Pan fried tilapia fillets, homemade fries & a sald with Italian vinaigrette….
Nothing too fancy π… just deliciousness all over π.
Tilapia Recipe :
500g Tilapia fillets
2 cloves thinly sliced garlic π§
1tsp Mixed herbs
1tsp fish spice
Garlic salt to taste
1/2tsp white pepper
1tsp paprika
1 cup flour
1tbs oil
Oil for frying
METHOD :
1. Season the fillets with garlic salt, white pepper, 1/2 tsp paprika , 1/2 tsp fish spice & 1/2 tsp mixed herbs. Add 1tbs oil then leave to marinate for 30mins in the refrigerator.
2. Mix the flour with the remaining halves of the spices and add more if there is need, you can also use other spices that you prefer π but not too many because they can easily overpower the taste of the fish fillets.
3. Lightly Dust the fillets in the flour until just covered in the flour mix. Place of a dusted plate or tray.
4. Using a good nonstick pan, pour oil into the pan, just enough to cover the base. This recipe calls for “shallow frying “ instead of deep frying π
5. When the oil is just hot, pan fry the fillets until golden at the bottom then turn them and fry until cooked for about 10mins.
P.S - If you are using skin-on fillets, start with the skin side down.
